3 Ways to Stoke Your Passion for Photography

Photography is not always fun. There will be moments when you feel completely drained and struggle for inspiration. And getting out of that can feel like a constant battle with yourself. If you’ve been going through this phase, we have the right video for your today. Photographer Alex Kilbee from The Photographic Eye shares three ways you can keep yourself inspired and keep taking better pictures:

If you’re feeling down and feel that you really need a kick, a great place to start can be to visit your past. Go back to the point when you decided that photography is what you want to pursue and remember why you made that decision, and how excited you were. That primal connection can really help you rejuvenate the inspiration and help you find direction to pursue with your photography.

Something else that you might want to try is to broaden your pool of inspiration. Add a buzz to your source of inspiration by following new photographers and looking at their work. An even better idea he shares it to add variety to your pool by drawing inspiration not just from photographers and photography articles. Instead draw inspiration from other sources like album cover, TV shows, and even movies. This will surely keep you excited as you’ll have an endless pool to keep you motivated.

And finally, at any point you feel stressed out, take a break. Put your camera down, take a step back, and give yourself a breather. Remember, you took up photography because you love it. Take a pause until you feel invigorated. You’ll only come back stronger.
