Interesting Photo of the Day: Surreal Beachscape

The movement of water has long captured photographer’s eyes – and led them to play around with longer shutter speeds. But perhaps a storm isn’t the best (or most obvious time) to linger on the beach to take a timelapse!

That said, there is generally always a touch of madness in genius – as we can certainly insist regarding this abstract photograph. Taken by Aitor Romero on a rather tumultuous day, the scene is surreal.

“I took this picture over the weekend. Sea was very rough because of the storms that we’re having in Catalonia right now. I got soaking wet (mostly because of the waves hitting in the rocks behind) but [it] was totally worth it.”

Due to the fast-approaching sunset and heavy cloud cover, he had to raise his shutter speed up to 1.3 seconds. His ISO was also low, at 160, with an aperture of f/8. This image was shot on a Fujifilm X-S10 with a Fujinon XF 16-80 F4 lens. He also lightly touched up the exposure and coloring in Lightroom.
