Interesting Photo of the Day: View of the Clouds From a Peak

Have you ever gotten a view above the clouds? You must either be in an aircraft or atop a high peak, right? In this case, it’s a view above the Alps that displays a gorgeous bed of clouds. The photographer had to trek to the top for this one, as suggested by his hiking poles and cold gear. The landscape certainly looks like it’s worth the view:

Photographer Jose Sarrablo captured this amazing shot. The immense amount of training and planning that goes into shots like these can dissuade photographers and explorers from even beginning to do the same. If you do, sights like these are sometimes the reward. Above the rest of the world, you can see what goes on above the clouds and at the tops of mountains. This really takes landscape photography to a whole new level.

I’m a little confused by this photo. He’s supposedly above the clouds and yet the surface he’s standing on is not lit up like the clouds and other mountain tops are. Also, theres a circle of light around him as though it was enhanced somehow in post-processing. Tell me this isn’t a composite and why it appears as though it is. Thanks.
