If world-renowned animal photographer Mitsuaki Iwago was needing any help getting into the purrfect mood while shooting his favorite subject matter—cats—he didn’t have far to look. Within moments of their greeting, this tiny ginger stray made himself quite comfortable:
Iwago was shooting for World Cats Travelogue on Okinawa Island when little ginger made himself more than comfortable in his lap and eventually on his head. Considering Iwago is a great lover of cats, it’s a true testament to his professionalism that he didn’t stop shooting.
Cats on Okinawa are held in high esteem and are cared for by the general community. In fact, the island is known as a great place to both visit and photograph feral cats.
