No one has a better view of the Earth than the astronauts on the International Space Station. ESA Astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti captured this shot of Typhoon Maysak as the station passes above. NASA collected valuable information on the typhoon as it grew to become a super typhoon:
Maysak has grown since March 30 and had wind speeds of up to 150 mph. The storm has been moving toward the Philippines, and although its wind speed has decreased, it continues to be a threat for the island nation. Now classified as a category 4 hurricane, meteorologists suspect it will weaken to become a tropical storm soon.
