Interesting Photo of the Day: Sun Rays Breaking Through at Yosemite

Yosemite is undoubtedly a magical place. The landscapes there are truly magnificent and beautiful. But if you pay close attention to what’s going on around you, and if you’re lucky enough, you might come across some truly spectacular views not everyone who visits gets to see. After all, nature has a lot of tricks up her sleeve to amaze us. For instance, when photographer Nathaniel Wise was at Merced River in Yosemite National Park early one morning, he was able to capture this magical moment:

Wise took the image with his Canon 5D Mark IV camera and the 16-35mm f/2.8 L III lens at 16mm, f/5, ISO 100, and 1/250 seconds.

It’s magical how the sun rays are breaking through the trees in the woods to light the river so distinctly. It truly requires an ideal condition for one to be able to witness such a beautiful phenomenon. And Wise got truly lucky that day.

“A mixture of fog and smoke from a controlled burn nearby caused the air to be thick this particular morning. Perfect conditions for light rays.”

While the majestic El Capitan and the Yosemite Falls might get most of the attention in the area, it’s amazing how you can come across these kinds of sights no matter where you go. If you happen to be visiting Yosemite National Park, be sure to keep your eyes out for these kind of miraculous views. Who knows what beautiful scenario you’ll come across.
