Be Warned, Sharks Steal Cameras Apparently

Before you think your camera is safe just hanging out on the ocean floor while you watch from a distance, you may want to think again. Ask Jim Abernethy, a shark expert who left his underwater camera rig below and had it carried off to sea by a curious shark.  Watch the culprit swim off with his loot in the following video:

What a sneaky shark!  Fortunately for Abernethy he was able to locate his camera, but we all might not be so lucky!

    Sharks are very sensitive to electrical fields. The electronic flash probably attracted them…. The high voltage to the capacitor probably set off a senor in the shark’s nose.
