With digital photography slowly taking over the industry, online
photo processing has been growing more and more convenient and
cheap. There are a whole range of new companies that
specialize in different ways of processing digital photos.
The problem is that they in fact are almost all completely
different in the way they go about printing your photos.
The trouble is finding out which one you like best.
Shutterfly - is
probably broadly rated as the top online photo processor in the business
right now. PC Magazine did a review of all the major competitors and
chose shutterfly as Editor's Choice. They use
Fujifilm printers and Fuji CrystalArchive paper. Prices keep getting
more and more competitive. First 15 4x6's free.
EzPrints - has
excellent quality prints, maybe even better than shutterfly, the problem is
that they don't have very many specific photo improvement tools like red-eye
removal for example. They use Fujifilm printers and Fuji
CrystalArchive paper. 4x6's cost $0.29 and 8x10's cost $2.45.
Ofoto -
has great prints. Also has all the photo improvement tools that
EzPrints lacks. They use Kodak printers and Kodak Duralife paper.
4x6's cost $0.29 and 8x10's cost $3.99.
Snapfish - has
great prints. The website was convenient and the services and tools
work very well. They use Kodak printers and Kodak paper. 4x6's
cost $0.19 and 8x10's cost $3.79.
Club Photo - has
fairly good prints. They offer 20 free pictures at signup. 4x6's
cost $0.19 and $8x10's cost $2.49.
DotPhoto - has
fair prints. They offer 30 free pictures at signup. Photo
sharing plan system is one of the best. Their pricing is monthly or by
bulk orders.
Wal-Mart - has fair prints. Have free software available to help
you with your photos. They use Fujifilm printers and Fuji
CrystalArchive paper. 4x6's cost $0.24.
