Samsung CLX-3160FN News Release Summary:
Newest Multifunction to Join Samsung's Line Provides
Space-Saving
Color Laser Printing, Scanning, Copying and Faxing; Recently
Named 2007 CES Innovation Honoree
LAS VEGAS - January 8, 2007 - Samsung, the world's second l'gest
printer manufacturer, today announced the CLX-3160FN, the
company's first compact color laser multifunction printer.
Weighing only 45.19 pounds, the CLX-3160FN printer is ideal for
users with demanding print, scan, fax, and copy needs that lack
the space for bulky machinery.
Due to its high-performance value, coupled with its compact
design, the CLX-3160FN printer was named a 2007 CES Innovation
Honoree. Samsung's entire laser printer lineup will be on
display during CES 2007 at the Samsung booth, #11033 in the
Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January
8-11.
Ideally suited for the consumer and SOHO [Small Office and Home
Office] markets, the CLX-3160FN printer features newly designed
compact toner bottles instead of unwieldy traditional
cartridges, allowing for a diminutive footprint of only 18.3 x
16.9 x 19.1. The CLX-3160FN printer further benefits from the
same exclusive NO-NOISE print engine technology found in
Samsung's high end color laser printers, giving the affordable
model quiet operation and simple toner changes.
"By creating such a small and light color laser multifunction
printer, Samsung has delivered the ultimate four-in-one
space-saving solution for a variety of customers, including
small businesses and home users, says Jeff Krebs, product
manager, office automation products, Samsung. "Additionally, the
CLX-3160FN printer is an ideal replacement for anyone who
previously used an ink jet printer and was disappointed with its
performance and overall cost. This product provides a compelling
solution for those customers who are seeking high-quality color
laser printing with an affordable total cost of ownership."
While the CLX-3160FN printer may be compact, it does not
compromise on performance, by providing print speeds up to 17ppm
(black and white) and 4ppm (color) in Letter size. The model is
not only high-speed -- it also boasts high-quality printing,
with a 600 x 600 dpi optical resolution, that can be enhanced up
to 2400 dpi, ensuring sharp text and vivid images. It also
produces crisp color scans with a 600 x 1200 dpi optical and
4800 x 4800 dpi enhanced CCD color flatbed scanner with an
automatic document feeder.
The CLX-3160FN printer provides quick, simple and convenient
printing -- even without the presence of a PC. The CLX-3160FN
printer offers an easy-to-use PictBridge interface, allowing
users to instantly print photos directly from their cameras or
phones. The model also offers a USB interface that allows users
to print and scan documents that are saved on USB memory, even
in the absence of a PC. Furthermore, the CLX-3160FN printer
incorporates a USB direct scan feature that allows users to save
scanned documents directly to USB memory, therefore increasing
flexibility and saving time.
With its built-in Windows, Macintosh and Linux compatibility and
its 10/100 Base-TX network connectivity, the CLX-3160FN printer
can easily be integrated into customers¡¯ networks, delivering
extended print, scan and fax functionality. Customers can also
connect directly with Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and IEEE-1284 parallel
ports.
The CLX-3160FN printer will be available for an MSRP of $599.00
and can be purchased through Samsung dealer channel partners.
The CLX-3160FN printer is backed by a one-year advanced
replacement limited warranty and is supported by a toll-free
technical support line. For more information on Samsung and
