HP Photosmart A716 News Release Summary:
HP Fuels Imaging and Printing Growth with Expanded Offerings,
New Technologies, Customer Wins
Driving growth across its $25 billion imaging and printing
business, HP today announced a fleet of products for fall, the
expansion of its Halo Collaboration Studio business and two
company milestones.
HP rolled out more than 100 imaging and printing products for
the home and home office, including six HP Photosmart printers
and all-in-ones based on the company's scalable printing
technology to deliver the industry's fastest printing speeds(1)
at affordable prices - as low as $129(2); HP's first printer
with a touch-activated image display for an easy-to-use,
kiosk-like printing experience in the home; the industry's first
compact photo printer capable of storing up to 4,000 photos; and
four ultra-compact digital cameras.
HP additionally unveiled new versions of the HP 57 and HP 78 ink
cartridges, named HP 57+ and HP 78+. These cartridges work with
existing HP printers, but now contain HP Vivera ink to produce
crisp text and photos that last up to 50 years longer(3) than
the original HP inks.
The company also continued its investment in HP Halo
Collaboration Studios with advancements designed to enable
customers to grow their businesses while operating more
efficiently. Customers now have the ability to connect multiple
studios at one time and access interpretation services for more
than 150 languages -- including sign language - within seconds
of the request. These advancements make it easy for customers to
do business in a life-like, face-to-face environment regardless
of the geographic distances separating them from their
colleagues.
The recently launched Halo business has been steadily growing
with numerous enterprise customer wins, including AIG Financial
Products Corp., BHP Billiton and General Electric Commercial
Finance. They join customers AMD, DreamWorks Animation and Pepsi
Co., among others.
"Today, we're illustrating that HP is in the right markets with
the right products and technologies at the right time," said
Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president, Imaging and Printing
Group, HP. "We are further realizing the results of our $1.4
billion investment in HP's scalable printing technology and
continuing to innovate in new markets, like Halo, to drive
growth across our entire imaging and printing business."
Marking one company milestone, HP is celebrating its first
customer to use the full range of HP graphic arts printing
solutions. With the purchase of two super-wide HP Scitex
solutions, Rastar, a comprehensive marketing communications
company, now offers postcard-to-billboard digital printing
services to its clients. The HP Scitex purchase rounds out Salt
Lake City-based Rastar's existing suite of HP products,
including HP Designjet large-format printers, HP Indigo digital
presses and inkjet solutions incorporating HP Specialty Printing
Systems OEM technology.
In another milestone, the company announced shipment of the 100
millionth HP LaserJet printer. For more than 20 years HP has
introduced laser printing products and innovations, leading to
the significant growth and success of its LaserJet business.
Today, HP is the worldwide market leader in laser printing,
offering the broadest range of business printing solutions from
home office to large enterprise products, services and
solutions.
Strengthening and extending the core business
HP's product rollout continues its tradition of innovating and
simplifying the printing experience - whether customers are on
the go, at home or at work.
The six HP Photosmart printers and all-in-ones that leverage the
company's scalable printing technology are designed specifically
to deliver high-performance printing for high-volume users.
For the back-to-school and holiday shopping seasons, the company
debuted its first touch-activated LCD on the new HP Photosmart
D7360 Photo Printer for a kiosk-like printing experience at
home. Additionally, HP unveiled the industry's first compact
photo printer packed with the power of a PC. The HP Photosmart
A716 Compact Photo Printer is the only printer of its kind
capable of storing up to 4,000 photos. Its sleek and stylish
design, including a built-in handle, and optional battery make
it a truly portable accessory for vacations, family celebrations
and other special occasions.
The HP Photosmart A716 Compact Photo Printer is joined by the HP
Photosmart A616 and A516 Compact Photo Printers and the HP
Photosmart A430 Portable Photo Studio series and features new HP
Vivera inks (HP 110 print cartridge). The new inks are specially
formulated to deliver water-, smudge- and scratch-resistant
photos(4) and are also featured in the HP Photo Value Pack (110
series). The value pack, which includes ink and paper for 120 4
x 6-inch photos in one convenient package, is priced at
$34.99.(5)
HP also reported results from a printer comparison study
conducted by third-party research firm Doxus that reveals
consumers believe HP Photosmart printers deliver the best
overall photo printing experience.(6)
Making it easier to take great photos, HP added four
feature-packed models to its digital camera line - two of which
feature HP steady photo anti-shake mode designed to help prevent
blurred photos. Leading the lineup, the 10-megapixel HP
Photosmart R967 Digital Camera features a 3-inch image display,
durable metal body and sleek silver design. With today's
introduction, HP now has the broadest portfolio of cameras with
in-camera red-eye removal under $500.(7)
Strategic investments in new business
In addition to HP's new relationship with Language Line Services
to provide HP Halo Collaboration Studio customers with language
interpretation capabilities, HP announced more than a 20 percent
price reduction for the solution. Halo studios now start around
$425,000; additional pricing reductions occur as more rooms are
purchased. Through HP Financial Services, customers can now
finance the entire cost of their Halo studios and consolidate
costs into monthly or quarterly payments.(8)
To date, 50 Halo studios have either been deployed on HP's Halo
Video Exchange Network or are in development around the world -
up from 18 rooms when HP Halo officially launched six months
ago.
