Epson Stylus Pro 4880, 7880 and 9880 News Release Summary:
Epson America Announces New Line of Stylus Pro Wide Format Printers -- Epson Stylus Pro 4880, 7880 and 9880 Featuring UltraChrome K3 With New 'Vivid Magenta' Ink. Epson America Also Unveils New Web Site (http://www.proimaging.epson.com) Designed to Showcase all Epson Stylus Pro Products for Creative Professionals.

LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Epson America Inc. today announced three new wide format printers for creative professionals, commercial print shops and photographic labs with the Epson Stylus Pro 4880, 7880 and 9880. These new models are designed to achieve even higher levels of print quality than previous models by way of Epson's new MicroPiezo® AMC™ print head, an enhanced version of Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink™ Technology, a radical new Epson AccuPhoto™ HD screening technology, and several other forward-thinking advancements.

The Epson Stylus Pro 4880 replaces the Epson Stylus Pro 4800 for printing images as wide as 17-inches, while the Epson Stylus Pro 7880 and Epson Stylus Pro 9880 replace the Epson Stylus Pro 7800 and 9800 for printing up to 24-inches and 44-inches in width, respectively.

"This latest generation of Epson Stylus Pro printers, represent a level of technology never before seen in this market," said Mark Radogna, group product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America. "By collaborating with the world's greatest creative professionals, we've been able to advance the state of photographic printing to unprecedented levels."

Only Eight Colors Needed to Achieve Superior Image Quality

Epson UltraChrome K3â„¢ ink technology is the industry standard by which all other professional-level ink technologies are judged. Now enhanced with Epson's breakthrough new Vivid Magenta pigments, our latest-generation ink technology requires only eight colors -- Cyan, Vivid Magenta, Yellow, Black, Light Cyan, Vivid Light Magenta, Light Black, and Light Light Black -- to significantly raise the quality levels for professional color and black-and-white prints.

With an even higher level of ink droplet accuracy, Epson has developed an all-new MicroPiezo AMC print head, along with an all-new ink repelling coating technology to dramatically reduce nozzle clogging. And, when combined with our new Epson AccuPhotoâ„¢ HD screening technology, at an astonishing resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 dpi, Epson has once again set a new benchmark for the entire industry.
