Amazing Time-lapse Flight Over Earth from the Space Station

This now viral video released in the last few days has been stunning viewers worldwide. It was created using multiple time-lapse sequences of photographs captured with a special low-light 4K-camera by the astronaut crew of expedition 28 & 29 on-board the International Space Station from August to October, 2011. Equipment Used (About 4k Cameras):

Many reader’s have been inquiring about which 4k camera was used to capture this footage, but unfortunately that information has not been released. It is rumored that they used a custom designed camera (proprietary technology) to excel in low light conditions like this. 4K refers in general to a resolution of approx 4096 X 2160 and is a coming standard for high end video cameras and possibly new DSLR’s. Compare that to HD resolution of 1920 X 1080. 4K is a step up from 2K in terms of scanning motion pictures shot on film (the few that still are shot on film.) Higher resolution scans mean better imagery, but also require more storage.
