Interesting Photo of the Day: Pfeiffer Beach

What a great example of a perfectly timed photograph! During an outing to Pfeiffer Beach in Big Sur, California, photographer Senthil Balakrishnan caught the sunset at the precise moment it passed by this opening in a rock, creating a superb frame within a frame:

The photographer was insightful enough to create a natural frame around the sunset. (Via 500px)

To capture this beauty, Balakrishnan used a Nikon D5100 with 18-55mm lens at 18mm. He used a shutter speed of 5 seconds at f/22 (hence the starburst effect on the sun) and ISO 125.

Fantastic! Love capturing the sun and the moon on a photo merge. Even if it’s simply using your hands to capture it in an almost closed fist. Great job!

According to the metadata, the lens used was a Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
