Interesting Photo of the Day: Deer at Sunset in Bushy Park, England

It doesn’t happen often, but sometimes we get to capture that one perfect moment and everything in the world seems right. It’s one of those “yes” moments that makes photography so gosh darn rewarding. Rhodri Williams (also known as Voyez L’esprit on Flickr) found this buck resting in the grass just as the sun started creeping behind the treeline:

You don’t just happen upon such a beautiful and serene moment regularly. Williams knew he was lucky, commenting, “Got really lucky at sunset. Not sure I’ll take a photo like this again.”

He took this photo in Bushy Park, the second largest of London’s Royal Parks, which has a small population of wild—yet quite tolerant of humans—deer. Although Williams is primarily into filmmaking, he has a smaller camera kit made up of a Canon 5D Mark II,  a 24-105mm lens, and another 16-26mm lens. This image was shot at 105mm, 1/200 of a second, f/5.6, and ISO 100.
