accurate-looking and adequately saturated colors, though the
images weren't quite as sharp as we've seen from some other
ultracompacts, such as Sony's T series. We saw small amounts of
barrel distortion at the lens' widest setting and even smaller
amounts of pincushion distortion at its longest telephoto
setting, though you'll likely not see it in your photos unless
you're shooting an object with lots of straight lines--for
example,a modern high-rise building with lots of glass windows."

Stop-motion movie
The COOLPIX S9 brings further photographic fun with the
Stop-motion function that makes it easy to create
professional-looking animated films. Users simply pose the
models they wish to animate, move them slightly, and then shoot
them again to create a film frame by frame. Opaque versions of
previous shots are shown on the camera’s large LCD to assist
users when making the movements and a one-second shutter delay
keeps the overall result steady. Once all the shooting is done,
the user is free to select up to 200 images as well as the frame
rate for playback and the COOLPIX S9 creates the final film
automatically in-camera.
