At the PMA show this year, Samsung Cameras announced the release of the Samsung S1030. It is a 10.1 megapixel digital camera with a Large 2.7” LCD screen. The S1030 is built for photographers who demand quality but who also want a wide range of functionality.

The camera has 3x optical zoom and up to 5x digital zoom. The S1030 lens type is SHD Lens f = 7.4 ~ 22.2mm (35mm film equivalent : 35~105mm).

The Samsung S1030 is built for versatility by offering 10 scene shooting modes. The camera also features six flash modes and auto-exposure bracketing. The flash modes include: Auto, Auto & Red-eye reduction, Fill-in flash, Slow sync, and Flash off. These features help ensure that photographers can get the results that they desire.

For very close-up photos, the S1030 offers 4 cm. Macro and Auto macro modes. Creative photographers can also use the effects features including: Normal, B&W, Sepia, Red, Blue, Green, Negative, and RGB.

The Samsung S1030 has shutter speed ranging from 1 second to 1/1500 of a second. It’s sensitivity or ISO speed ranges from 80 to 1000.

The camera also features powerful movie functions. It can take MPEG-4 videos at VGA resolution and 30 fps.

The Samsung S1030 will be available in the Spring of 2007.
