Kodak Easyshare Z712 IS and said: "Photo quality was
generally good, though a few issues did arise. The Z712 took
well-exposed photos, with highly saturated colors (perhaps too
much so). Images were on the soft side, with noticeable noise
reduction artifacting, even at the lowest ISO setting. Noise
reduction really starts to eat at details until ISO 400, but
small prints were still very good at that setting. Above that,
things get dicey, so I'd avoid ISO 800, 1600, and especially
3200 unless you're really desperate."

generally very good, but it could have been even better if the
excellent Schneider-Kreuznach lens wasn’t let down by a small

Kodak announced today a new series of Ni-MH pre-charged
batteries (2100mAh, 1.2Volts) in the popular AA format,
supporting all AA format digital cameras on the market. The new
KODAK Digital Camera Batteries (available in AA 4-pack and AAA
2-pack) are ready to use out of the package and will stay
charged up to four times longer than ordinary Ni-MH batteries.
The batteries can take up to 300 digital pictures per charge
with the ability to recharge up to 1,000 times, which allows up
to 300,000 digital pictures over the life of the batteries. The
KODAK 1-Hour Battery Charger and Value Ni-MH Charger both
include a set of four pre-charged batteries and is projected to
retail for US $29.99 and $15.99 respectively. The KODAK AA
Battery 4-Pack is projected to retail for $13.99 and the KODAK
AAA Battery 2-Pack for US $8.99 (MSRP). The new batteries and
chargers will be available in July.
