Fujifilm Finepix S5800 News Release Excerpt:
Fujifilm announces the introduction of the FinePix S5800, an 8.0-Megapixel version of FinePix S5700. The new model is also fitted with an impressive 10x long-zoom FUJINON lens and in addition, FinePix S5800 is equipped with variety of shooting functions such as ISO 1600 sensitivity, Picture Stabilization (Anti-blur), “Intelligent-Flash”, powerful movie functions, and Super Macro mode.

FinePix S5800 offers a bright, 2.5 Inch, 230,000 LCD, with a refresh rate of 60 frames per second. Furthermore, the camera is fitted with a Wide View filter, enabling consumers to view the LCD at oblique angles, which is great for awkward shots or group playback.

Despite the long zoom, the S5800 is remarkably compact. It’s designed to be a perfect entry-level bridge camera, with enough control for the enthusiast, but also simple to use for the novice.

FinePix S5800 Features:

8.0-Megapixel effective pixels for high image quality: The S5800 offers sensitivity ranges from ISO64 to ISO 1600. Borrowing from the success of earlier cameras, the S5800 is fitted with all the recent innovations, and offers excellent image quality with minimal noise at low light levels.

10x optical zoom: 38mm to 380mm (35mm equivalent)

The flash pops up automatically in low light: The S5800 features Fujifilm’s Intelligent Flash system, which controls power output to achieve natural foreground illumination with balanced background exposure.

The S5800 features various selective scene positions, with pre-set shutter speed, aperture and white balance settings - for those who prefer to leave the camera to do the hard work. More advanced photographers can use the Manual setting for advanced creativity.

The new 2.5 inch LCD is coated with Wide View film, which expands the screen viewing angle. This aids composition while shooting, and enables friends to gather around to share the fun of playback.

The S5800 features an xD/SD compatible slot for both xD-picture card, Secure Digital (SD) card, and SDHC (High Capacity) card.

FinePix S5800 is scheduled to be available from October 2007.
