DC Resource wrote a review on the Canon Powershot G9 and said: "As long as you don't let the ISO sensitivity wander too high, you'll get very good quality photos from the PowerShot G9. They were well-exposed, with colors that are both accurate and vivid. The one time colors weren't so accurate were when I was using custom white balance -- the resulting photos had a greenish color cast."

Steve's Digicams reviewed the Canon Powershot G9 and said: "Our image quality results when using the Large (12-megapixel) SuperFine setting were pleasing. As usual with Canon models, the exposure system is very accurate and produces very nice images. This also helps create some beautiful blue skies with awesome cloud detail. Our images are also tach sharp from edge to edge, and colors are very vivid."

Cnet wrote a review on the Canon Powershot G9 and said: "Among the G9's good qualities you'll find an excellent noise profile--photos hold detail well as high as ISO 400"
