Sony DCR-HC37E News Release Summary:
8th January, 2007 - Memories can fade, but with the new range of affordable MiniDV camcorders from Sony you can capture them for life. The new Sony DV Handycam range packs more user-friendly features than ever – plus an awesome optical zoom range and incredible battery STAMINA.

Performance-packed yet compact and supremely easy to use, the latest Sony DV Handycam range underlines the continuing popularity of affordable, widely available DV format tapes and the tremendous choice of PC-based editing solutions.

Setting new standards – more powerful zoom, longer battery life
Exciting new styling ensures that the new DV Handycam line-up stands out from the crowd. Good looks aside, the range sets new standards with up to 40x optical zoom performance (with 20% wider angle than previous models) and the longest shooting times of up to 14 hours STAMINA (with optional battery) yet from a single battery charge. Shooting in low light is also enhanced with a new Auto Slow Shutter mode (HC47E) that automatically boosts minimum illumination performance up to 4lux compared with 7 lux on previous model.

Great results with less fuss – new Usage Guide for simple operation
Latest Handycam DV models are easier to use than ever before. A helpful new Usage Guide function (excludes HC27E) offers a concise explanation of main functions on the camcorder’s LCD touch screen.

The supplied Handycam Station (HC45E/HC47E) provides fuss-free connectivity with a television or PC plus automatic battery charging – with no need to keep re-plugging wires.

All new Sony DV Handycam models feature high quality Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® optics plus Super SteadyShot image stabilisation for crisper, clearer pictures during handheld shooting.

Teaming great looks with serious performance, the new Sony DV line-up is easier to use and more affordable than ever.

Optional Accessories
New-generation InfoLITHIUM™ H Series batteries feature Hybrid Lithium-Ion cells and ActiFORCE ™ battery technology for higher capacity and faster recharging plus a more accurate, responsive indication of remaining capacity. Compatible with all latest Handycam models, three new batteries (NP-FH100, NP-FH70 and NP-FH50) offer capacities of 3980mAh, 1800mAh and 900mAh respectively. All can also be used with older camcorders using P Series batteries.

Two new wide angle lenses have also been introduced. The VCL-HA07A and the extremely compact VCL-E07A offer wider compatibility with the Handycam range at an even more affordable price.

Other additions include stylish carry cases and the SPK-HCC Sports Pack that waterproofs your Handycam down to 5 metres.
