LAS VEGAS, January 8, 2007 –At the annual Consumer Electronics
Show, Thomson today announced plans to introduce the RCA Small
Wonder EZ201, a new, affordable digital camcorder that will
feature an expandable SD memory slot and a convenient rotating
display that lets the videographer be part of the fun. The RCA
EZ201 is perfect for spontaneously recording every day
experiences and can easily hold hours of recordings by utilizing
both the on-board memory and additional SD removable memory. The
unit runs on two standard “AA” batteries that last up to two
hours of continuous use, making the EZ201 Small Wonder an ideal
option for vacations and travel.

and ease of use,” said Dan Collishaw, Chief Operating Officer of
Thomson’s Audio/Video business. “The EZ201 Small Wonder
represents the next evolution in simplifying video recording and
at-home archiving. We’ve listened to our consumers needs, and
this product offers a perfect video recording solution for a
myriad of users – from moms and students to professionals like
building contractors and real estate agents.”
About the same size as a deck of cards, the EZ201 is compact
enough to fit in a pocket or small purse and allows anyone to
easily capture video. This simple MPEG-4 digital camcorder is
always ready to capture a spontaneous moment – it’s as easy as
turning on the power button and pressing the red “record”
button. Consumers can play, pause, delete, rewind, and fast
forward clips on the vibrant 1.5-inch LCD panel, which will flip
out 180 degrees allowing everyone to be a part of the shot.
Available later this Spring, the EZ201 connects directly to a TV
set for immediate viewing, or individual clips can be
transferred to a computer via the built-in sliding USB arm. With
no software to install (software is built into the camera
itself), the RCA Small Wonder makes it simple and speedy to
save, compress, and e-mail favorite clips to friends and family,
or upload to a favorite website. The RCA EZ201 has a suggested
retail price of $129.
Later this year, the RCA Memory Maker, a new DVD docking and
recording system for the EZ201, will be introduced as a simple
way to archive favorite clips. With this docking accessory it
will no longer be necessary to tie up the family PC to create a
DVD. The Small Wonder Memory Maker will enable simple one-touch,
at-home DVD burning of your favorite clips captured with the
EZ201. You’ll have perfectly burned home movies every time,
perfect as keepsakes or gifts for family and friends.
