LAS VEGAS – January 8, 2007 - Samsung Electronics, a worldwide
leader in camcorder technology and innovation has launched its
first high definition camcorder, which allows consumers to
record in both 1080i and 720p resolution. With this new
camcorder, consumers can now play back their recorded memories
in high definition on their HDTVs at home. Samsung also launched
two new flash memory-based camcorders that provide consumers
with quick and easy file transfer. Each camcorder offers
excellent video quality with rich colours and crisp details, the
convenience of MP3/webcam/voice recorder/data storage and easy
upload to websites.
“More consumers watch HD content at home and want to maintain
the same quality standards for their home movies,” said James
Murphy, Director of Digital AV Division, Samsung Electronics
Canada. “Samsung also lets consumers easily record their
memories video and upload them to the Internet. Samsung’s new
camcorder line-up delivers next-generation functionality at
reasonable prices.”
Samsung’s First HD Camcorder
For consumers who have already made the leap to HDTV, upgrading
their camcorder is the next logical step. As consumer interest
in HD camcorders gains momentum, Samsung delivers a model that
is a technology and home video enthusiast’s dream. The SC-HMX10
Camcorder features an elegant, compact and lightweight design
with 10x optical zoom with the added convenience of 4GB built-in

functions and frame important shots, while a 1.5 megapixel CCD
provides quality still photos.
Flash Memory Camcorders
“The personal media revolution is now in full swing,” added
Murphy. “Today, with consumer content-driven websites that are
dedicated to personal videos and bloggers who incorporate video

flash-memory makes Samsung’s new flash-based camcorder very
accessible to the web savvy consumer.”
Samsung designed its robust, yet compact SC-MX10 Camcorder for
