Las Vegas, NV - Samsung Electronics, a worldwide leader in
camcorder innovation, propels the DVD camcorder market to new
heights with four advanced new models. Led by the SC-DC565,
Samsung's 2006 DVD camcorders offer compatibility with all key
single layer DVD formats as well as dual layer +R disc -- an
industry first. Samsung's entire DVD camcorder lineup will be on
display during CES 2006 at the Samsung booth, #11033 in the
Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 5th
- 8th.

compatibility, superior memory card compatibility and the
shortest power-on time."
The DVD camcorders can act as web cams and take digital still
photos at 1152 x 864 resolution. Both models also offer 16:9
recording format to capture the action in breathtaking cinema
format. The SC-D564 features a 2.7" wide LCD, and comes with a
strobe and remote. The SC-D563 features a 2.5" LCD.
The SC-DC165 DVD Camcorders offer Samsung's industry leading DVD
format compatibility, convenient 4-in-1 multi-memory card slots
and a compact design. The 680k pixel CCD and 33x Optical/1200x
Digital Zoom provide quality home movies. The 2.7" wide LCD
(260K pixel) gives consumers a clear view of every shot and 16:9
recording and viewing capability provides a cinematic home movie
experience. USB 2.0 and PictBridge technology offer quick,
convenient file transfer to a PC and easy printing to PictBridge
compatible printers.
In addition to MPEG4 recording, the units can double as web
cams, and capture 800 x 600 still images for true versatility in
a DVD camcorder. The SC-DC165 includes a remote control, light,
analog in, and DVD-RW disc bundle. The SC-DC163 offers DVD-RW/-R/+RW/+R
single layer plus DVD+R Dual layer format compatibility, a
4-in-1 multi-memory card slot and a 2.5" LCD. The camcorder
features a 680k pixel CCD and 30x Optical/1200x Digital Zoom for
superior picture with 16:9 recording capability. USB 2.0 and
PictBridge technology offer quick, convenient file transfer to a
PC and easy printing to PictBridge compatible printers. The unit
can also act as a web cam and digital still camera.
The four models will be available in March; the SC-DC165 at MAP
$499.99.
