Canon
Digital Elph 10th Anniversary Review
Canon Press Release Excerpt:
It was May 1996 when the camera purchasing public first learned
of a special little camera called the Canon ELPH, born of a new
photo format the industry optimistically called the Advanced
Photo System. Virtually overnight, the camera-buying public made
Canon's ELPH not simply the photo industry's top selling compact
camera, but far and away, the clearly dominant camera in the new
Advanced Photo System (APS) format. Even after APS gave way to
advanced digital imaging technology, it is the combination of
style-and-substance, form-and-function, that keeps Canon cameras
number one worldwide.

Canon Powershot SD800 IS Review at DC Resource
Digital Camera Resource wrote a review of the
Canon Powershot SD800 IS
and said: "There are some image quality tradeoffs that come from
having a tiny camera with this kind of lens, but the typical
point-and-shooter probably won't be bothered by most of them. The
PowerShot SD800 IS is an ultra-compact camera made almost entirely
of metal. I say "almost" because of the plastic cover over the
memory card and battery compartment -- it's really quite flimsy, and
a step down from what was on the SD800's predecessor (the SD700)."

Casio Exilim EX-Z700 Review at Think Camera
Think Camera wrote a review of the
Casio Exilim EX-Z700
and said: "On the Z600 low light performance is excellent. On the
Z700 I'd have to downgrade that to “very good”. This isn't
particularly surprising - on a 7MP camera not only are there more
pixels crammed together in the same space (and this ends to increase
noise) but when you look at a file at 100% you are effectively
looking at a larger print size. I'd be happy to print ISO 800 shots
at 6X4."

Sony Cybershot T50 Review at Steve's Digicams
Steve's Digicams wrote a review of the
Sony Cybershot T50
and said: "Like we have seen with the other T-series models this
year, the image quality of the T50's 7-megapixel images is very
good. Our outdoor samples showed nice exposure and pleasing color
saturation. Images are also sharp, thanks to the 5 Area Multi-point
AF system and its high-quality Carl Zeiss 3x optical zoom lens.
While offering a typical focal range of 38 - 114mm (35mm
equivalent), it offers quite a bit of versatility in composing your
shots."

Sony Cyber-shot N2 Review at DC Resource
Digital Camera Resource wrote a review of the
Sony Cybershot N2
and said: "Camera performance is excellent. The N2 starts up in 1.6
seconds, focuses very quickly, and has no shutter lag to speak of.
The camera focused well in low light situations thanks to its
AF-assist lamp. Battery life was above average. The one downside in
terms of performance is the N2's burst mode. It takes just three
shots in a row at a very slow 0.7 frames/second. Just about every
other compact camera on the market does a better job in this area.
Photo quality was very good for the most part."

Focusing on Moving Objects in Photography
Ziv
Haparnas writes, "Focusing is an important part of shooting a
good photo alongside with composition and lighting. Focusing on
static objects is relatively easy either by manually focusing or
by using the camera auto focus feature. Focusing is much harder
when the objects are constantly moving. There are many
techniques used by photographers in order to take in focus sharp
photos of moving objects. Here are a few of them: When the
objects are far enough from the camera focus can be set either
manually or automatically to infinite."
