Senior Portrait Photography Tips
Cindy
Bracken writes, "Are you doing any senior photography? If not,
you are losing out on a huge market for your photography
business! Senior photography has become more and more popular,
and is now viewed as a rite of passage. I know of many
photographers who make nearly as much or more with seniors that
they do with weddings! And if you ask me, senior portrait
sessions are MUCH easier than weddings and other events."

Olympus Stylus 750 Review at Cnet
Cnet wrote a review of the
Olympus Stylus 750
and said: "The Olympus Stylus 750 is a very strong
point-and-shoot camera, though its attractive images are hindered by
mediocre performance. It has no manual exposure controls and isn't
as responsive as we would like, but as a general snapshot camera,
it's still a very good choice. If you want a Stylus but don't want
to spend quite as much, the Olympus Stylus 740 is nearly identical
to the 750."

Food Photography Tips and Techniques
Low
Jeremy writes, "Photographing food is probably one of the most
challenging kinds of photography out there. It is considered
difficult by most professional food photographers because there
is a time constraint in the whole photo shoot. And since the
marketability of the food itself depends primarily on how it is
seen in print, food photographers should be well trained and
skilled in order to come up with satisfying results."

Lighting Tips in Nature Photography
Low
Jeremy writes, "Lighting is one of the most important factors in
taking photographs of natural subjects. Unlike with studio shots
where you control the lights and the shadows, taking photos
outside is a little bit more complicated. In addition to not
being able to control your subject, you also have to take into
consideration the elements especially the lighting. Of course
for the seasoned photographer, natural light is no longer a
hindrance. In fact, most photographers use light to create great
effects and put color into an otherwise drab picture."

Olympus Stylus 740 Review at Cnet
Cnet wrote a review of the
Olympus Stylus 740
and said: "Both cameras performed nearly identically in our lab
tests, save for one quirk: the Stylus 740 is slightly faster than
the 750 in shot-to-shot time when the onboard flash is enabled. The
740 registered a 3.3-second flash recycle time, while the 750 took
4.5 seconds to accomplish that feat. Image quality between the two
cameras was also similar; both produced very attractive photos with
little distortion."

Olympus SP-510 UZ Review at Cnet
Cnet wrote a review of the
Olympus SP-510 UZ and said: "At its best, the SP-510UZ can
capture images with abundant detail and accurate-looking,
well-saturated colors, with only very minor JPEG artifacting and
little or no fringing. The camera's automatic white balance did an
admirable job of serving up neutral colors under our lab's tungsten
lights. Interestingly, the tungsten preset was less neutral, with a
slight bluish-green cast."

Digital Camera Aperture Settings
Jill
Kane writes, "Apertures come in different sizes - all classified
as 'f' numbers. Each number lets in double the amount of light
as the previous one. The standard is between f/1.8 and f/16. The
smaller the aperture, the less light that will be let in. So an
f/16 lens will let in half the amount of light as an f/8 lens.
The aperture works in conjunction with the shutter as well when
it comes to the amount of light let in. The speed at which the
shutter opens and shuts is also a factor with light."

Fashion Photography Information
TJ Tierney writes, "A fashion photographer must be good
in two photography disciplines. First, you need to be a great
portrait photographer - second, you need to be able to create
images for the advertisement market. You must be able to combine
the two if you are going to succeed. To be a successful fashion
photographer you must also have a love of fine design clothes -
without it you will never achieve the heights that bring
success. A fashion photographer must stay up to date with all
the latest fashion and have the ability to use his/her
imagination to sell new designs."
