Canon Powershot G7 Review at DC Resource
Digital Camera Resource wrote a review of the
Canon Powershot G7
and said: "Photo quality was impressive. The G7 took well-exposed
photos with accurate colors, pleasing sharpness, and minimal purple
fringing. Noise is kept in check if you keep the ISO at 400 or
below, with the higher settings reserved for small prints. The
camera did have a big problem with redeye, though. If you take a lot
of flash people pictures, you may want to either consider buying an
external flash, or just choosing another camera altogether."

Children Photography and Family Portraits
Low Jeremy writes, "Parents should bear in mind that when
trying to photograph their children, they should be ready for
occasional tantrums and crying. When this happens, let the child
calm down by giving them something that would catch their
attention like a toy. Younger children like those tots under 5
years old are not very conscious or aware of the camera but this
doesn't mean that they are very interested in the 'photo shoot'.
To get their attention, make sure that you have something that
will get their attention."

Lighting Photography Tips by Colin Finlay at Kingston
Kingston Press Release Excerpt:
In this month's profile, Finlay offers tips on making the most
of existing lighting. "As a photojournalist, I've learned to use
whatever is available to me to capture my images - this includes
lighting. I rarely have the luxury of bringing portable strobes
on assignments, even my commercial advertising jobs," noted
Finlay. "Keeping the lighting simple is something I always tell
students, whether in the studio or on location. Doing this
minimizes complications and forces you to look at your subjects
from varying angles.

Pentax Optio S7 Review at Megapixel Reviews
Megapixel.net wrote a review of the
Pentax Optio S7
and said: "Like many other compact cameras on the market nowadays,
the Optio S7 is noticeably sensitive to noise, and at the highest
image quality uses a compression that is stronger than we would
prefer to see; both facets of a camera's image quality that are most
noticeable when the images are seen at 100% size. This said, just
like many others, once The Optio S7's images are printed, the flaws
that are visible on a monitor, tend to disappear."

The Physics of Color in Photography
Andrea
Ghilardelli in this article about color writes, "As we all know,
photography deals with visible electromagnetic radiation
(light). This is a very narrow region of the electromagnetic
spectrum, namely between 4000 and 8000 angstrom. Our eye is able
to reveal electromagnetic radiation only in this region, and it
perceives different wavelengths as different colors. For
instance we perceive electromagnetic radiation at 8000 angstrom
as red, at 5600 as yellow, at 5000 as green, at 4500 as blue and
at 4000 as violet."
