Canon Powershot A430 Review at PC Magazine
PC Magazine wrote a review of the
Canon Powershot A430
and said: "In our Labs testing, both the simulated daylight and
the flash test shots were underexposed by about one f-stop, but the
images showed very little noise. In the daylight shots, colors were
accurate but could have been a tad more saturated. There was also
some fringing in the image. The images just didn't have the
vividness or contrast of images taken with the competing HP
Photosmart R817, perhaps because of the underexposure."

Olympus Evolt E-330 Review at DC Resource
DC Resource wrote a review of the
Olympus Evolt E-330
and said: "Photo quality on the E-330 was excellent in my
opinion. The camera took properly exposed photos with accurate
colors, minimal purple fringing, with the trademark "smooth" (some
would say soft) look of a digital SLR. Noise levels were quite low
through ISO 400, and you can still get a 8 x 10 print at ISO 800.
Above that you'll most likely be doing small prints. I was surprised
at how well the E-330 kept up with the D50 and Rebel XT in the noise
department, since Olympus' other D-SLRs have a reputation for being
noisy at high ISOs."

Wide Angle
Lens Tips and Techniques
Roman Zolin writes, "One of the most interesting features
of wide-angle lens is the capability to stretch perspective.
What do I mean by that? I mean that when you look through a
wide-angle lens, it seems that the distance between objects has
extended. The objects that were not so distant could appear too
far away. And the proportion of objects dramatically increases,
so the one that close to the camera look enormous, but those,
which are father away almost disappear in the distance."

Digital Backgrounds in Photoshop for Studio Photography
Fabian
Barajas writes, "Most photographers who are serious about
improving their portrait taking skills have realized that a
beautiful background can greatly enhance their photographs.
Muslins are a very popular choice among professionals.
However, they can get very costly at several hundred dollars
each. For the professional who is well established, this may not
seem too much, but for the hobbyist, this may be a stretch. A
less costly alternative is a digital background. With a digital
background, one can get the look and feel of a professional
looking portrait without the additional cost of muslin."

Kodak Easyshare V610 Review at Cnet
CNET wrote a review of the
Kodak Easyshare V610
and said: "Overall, the camera tends to either overexpose
highlights or underexpose shadows. Noise creeps in even at lower ISO
settings. Images shot at ISO 64 are, of course, the cleanest but
still show traces of colored specs, especially in darker colors. The
camera keeps this under control at ISO 100, but by ISO 200, noise is
noticeable and becomes obvious at ISO 400. Images shot at ISO 800
are generally not fit to print."

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS2 Review at Imaging Resource
Imaging
Resource wrote a review of the
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS2 and said: "Image quality in
daylight situations at low ISOs was surprisingly good. Shots
outdoors, particularly with the Macro mode, had nice crisp
color, though they were a little soft around the edges. As is
noted in our test results, Panasonic tends to engineer its
cameras toward the soft side to allow for sharpening in
Photoshop. While this is great for the Photoshop user who can
really bring out detail in LS2 images with Unsharp Mask, most
entry-level consumers either don't have the skills or the time
to do that."
