could end up with everything in the scene perfectly displayed
without any blur or you could end up with the subject in focus

Camera
Film Types and Speed
Danny
Hartley writes, "As with everything else in life,
typically you get what you pay for. Big brands like Kodak and
Fuji make very good films and you'll pay a bit more than lesser
brands for the better quality. Ilford makes some excellent black
and white films. Kodachrome is number one for film archival.
It's longevity is second to none. Kodak colour films typically
are strongest in the red/yellow part of the spectrum. Rendering
of reds, yellows and skin tones look great. Fuji films
traditionally are strongest in the green part of the spectrum.
Great for nature and landscapes. Velvia 50 is superb, now
discontinued, replaced by Velvia 100."

Learn How to Take Better Photos
Danny
Hartley writes, "For example, you want to take a picture of a
vegetable shop with all its yummy delights set out in bright
rows. Putting the grocer into the frame, whether at attention
looking into the camera or captured candidly at their work -
make them the subject of the picture and the shop is the
context. Similarly, a picture of a row of impressive distant
mountains or glorious sunset will be more impressive if an
object is in the foreground, be it a gate, rock, tree or a lake.
Like great paintings, the eyes first focus on the subject of the
picture and are lead around the picture to appreciate the other
parts of the masterpiece."

Digital Camera Lens Guide
Danny
Hartley writes, "Photography is all about capturing light on a
photographic emulsion or electronic sensor. And as such the lens
and film or sensor, are the most important components affecting
image quality. Essentially, the camera itself is just a
light-tight box with a shutter! A camera that allows you to
change the lens will obviously give you the greatest flexibility
to pick the appropriate lens for the situation. An ideal camera
like this is the SLR. You can choose from super wideangle to
super telephoto. Macro for close ups. Bellows for even closer
close up. Attach it to a microscope. Attach it to a telescope."
