Twelve Tips on Improving Digital Landscape Photos
Steve
Paxton from
paxtonprints.com offers a tip on bracketing in this article,

creative latitude in processing by allowing you to
use Photoshop CS2's HDR feature to combine shots to
increase an image's total dynamic range. Even better
than HDR is manually combining images that have been
exposed for different areas of a scene and using layer masks to
create a single photograph with additional dynamic range."
