Sony Announces the Brand New Sony Cyber-shot T30

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T30 News Release Excerpt:
Equipped with double anti-blur protection, you can press the DSC-T30 model's Super Steady Shot® optical image stabilization and high-sensitivity mode buttons in seconds, and reduce the chance of taking a blurry picture the very first time - especially in low-light conditions.

The Super Steady Shot technology minimizes blur caused by shaky hands, while the new camera's high light sensitivity (ISO 1000) mode reduces blur resulting from shooting at faster shutter speeds. There's even added defense with Sony's Clear RAW™ noise reduction system, which kicks in to counter picture noise associated with high-sensitivity shooting.         Full Article

Nature Patterns and Photography Techniques

Phil McDermott writes, "This attention to detail undoubtedly brings wonder and is certainly worth taking a little time for a closer look. Indeed when this attention is applied to even the most commonplace of nature subjects there is clearly an extraordinary display of beauty and orderliness to be found. These combine to create patterns in nature that require only an observant and discerning eye to behold. This vision instils a lasting appreciation of the simplicity and beauty of the natural world and with this understanding and harmony there is everlasting enjoyment."         Full Article

Backlighting Photography Opportunities

Phil McDermott writes, "Contrary to popular belief stunning photographs can be taken when shooting into the light. Whilst this may contradict advice given to beginners to always shoot with the light coming from behind the camera the art of backlighting is a technique that can produce wonderful images. However, many nature photographers are intimidated by the idea of pointing the camera towards the light and shy away from many worthwhile opportunities."          Full Article

Canon Powershot A540 Review at DC Resource

DC Resource wrote a review of the Canon Powershot A540 and said: "The A540 is a midsize camera that's too big for your jeans pocket, but it'll fit fine in a camera bag or in your jacket. While the body is made of plastic, it feels quite solid in the hand. The controls are well placed, and "button clutter" is kept to a minimum. The A540 features a 4X optical zoom lens, which is more than what you'll find on most cameras in this class. While the camera has a large 2.5" LCD display, the resolution is poor. On a more positive note, the screen was quite visible in low light situations. When you're ready to "add on" to the A540, Canon offers conversion lenses, an external slave flash, and an underwater case."          Full Article

Nikon Coolpix S5 Review at Trusted Reviews

Trusted Reviews wrote a review of the Nikon Coolpix S5 and said: "Noise control was generally very good, producing very clean results at 50 ISO, but there was some colour distortion in darker areas visible from 100 ISO upwards. The worst offender though was the lens, which is usually a Nikon strongpoint. This time I found badly blurred corners at both ends of the zoom range, as well as severe barrel distortion at the wide-angle setting, something I’d associate with cheap cameras at the other end of the price range."        Full Article

Nikon Coolpix L2 Review at Megapixel.net

Megapixel
wrote a review of the Nikon Coolpix L2 and said: "As with a number of other Nikon models, the L2's very precise metering system makes it possible to capture excellent exposures that take high and low light areas into account. Moreover, with the camera maintaining the CCD sensitivity as close to the minimum as possible, images are generally completely noise-free."          Full Article

Initial Review Posted For the Fujifilm Finepix V10

Fujifilm Finepix V10 News Release Excerpt:
With Real Photo Technology, the FinePix V10 generates less noise than similar digital cameras and can therefore take pictures at light sensitivities as high as 1600 ISO at full resolution. Higher sensitivities open the door to a host of user benefits when combined with quicker shutter speeds. Those benefits include less shake and blur due to hand and subject movement as well as more detailed and natural-looking pictures taken in low-light environments.        More

New Photoshop Tutorial - Accent a Certain Color

This tutorial is to help you learn how to bring out a certain color or colors in a photo. In this photo I chose to bring out the purple color in the flowers so they are more dominant to the scene. Everybody will probably have different preferences of how much they want to accent a color. But this technique can be a very powerful but subtle way of attracting attention to a certain color.         Full Tutorial
