Sanyo Announces the Waterproof DMX-CA8
The
Sanyo Xacti DMX-CA8 is a digital movie camera designed to
survive in extreme conditions. It is waterproof and is built to
be compatible with the average active lifestyle. The DMX-CA8
features face chase technology, MPEG-4 video, 8-megapixel still
images, 5x optical zoom, noise reduction, and digital image
stabilization. It will be available first in Japan starting in
May.

Canon Announces the High End XL H1A
The
Canon XL H1A records to HDV tapes and is a professional high
definition camcorder. The XL H1A is a lot like the XL H1S but
lacks some expanded connectivity designed for certain technical
situations. The XL H1S features a Canon 20x optical zoom HD
video lens, the Digic DVII HD image processor, and three 1/3
inch CCD image sensors. It will be available in July for about
$5,999.

The
Canon XL H1S is a professional HD camcorder that records to HDV
tapes. It is designed to meet the needs of producers, event
videographers, and digital cinematographers. The XL H1S features
a Canon 20x optical zoom HD video lens, three 1/3 inch CCD image
sensors (1.67 Megapixels each), and the Digic DVII HD image
processor. It will be available in early June for about $8,999.

The DXG-565V is a 5 megapixel camcorder and digital
camera. It is designed to be extremely affordable with basic
features and stylish body color options. The DXG-565V features
an mp3 player, MPEG-4 video at 720 x 480 resolution, 12
megapixel still photo resolution, 32 MB of internal storage, and
a 2.4” LCD screen. It is available in 5 colors (metallic pink,
red, deep-sea blue, gun metal, and midnight black) for about
$99.

The
DXG-566V is a 5 megapixel camcorder with HD video resolution of
up to 1280 x 720 at 30fps and D1 resolution of 720 x 480 at
30fps. It is designed to be small and convenient so it can be
taken almost anywhere by casual videographers. The DXG-566V
features 8 megapixel still photographs, an SD memory card slot
for expanded memory, 2x digital zoom, and a large 3.0” flip-out
