Photos From Iraq by Christopher Rye
Christopher
Rye is a new member of PictureSocial, and recently uploaded an
incredible gallery of images from his deployment in Iraq. I

photos from his military experience in Japan. Chris has been
working as a Marine Combat Photographer since 2001. He is now at
MCRD San Diego working as the Imagery Chief for the 12th Marine

Casio Unveils the Stylish and Affordable EX-Z9
The
Casio Exilim EX-Z9 is an 8.1-megapixel digital camera with 3x
optical zoom. It is designed to be a stylish point-and-shoot
camera that also makes video uploading to YouTube quick and
easy. The EX-Z9 features face detection technology, 23 best shot
modes, a 2.6" LCD, Anti Shake DSP, and easy mode (which makes
operation very simple). It is available in pink, black, silver
and orange colors for about $159.

Sony Announces the W170 With Smile Shutter
The
Sony Cybershot DSC-W170 is a 10.1 megapixel digital camera with
a Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens. It is designed to be a
stylish and smart point-and-shoot camera for simple portrait and
group photos. The W170 features face detection technology, a new
smile shutter function, Sony’s D-Range Optimizer, and image
stabilization. The DSC-W170 is available in sophisticated
champagne, red, black and silver for about $300.

The Sony Cybershot DSC-W150 is a lot like the DSC-W170
only it is 8.1 megapixel instead of 10.1. It is available in
April in the same color options for about $250.

Sony Announces the Stylish Point-and-Shoot W130
The
Sony Cybershot DSC-W130 is an 8.1-megapixel digital camera with
4x optical zoom. It is designed to be stylish and relatively
affordable compared to other cameras with similar features. The
W130 features a new smile shutter mode which allows the camera
to automatically capture a photo when your subject smiles, face
detection, image stabilization, and ISO speeds up to 3200. The
DSC-W130 model will be offered in pink, black and silver for
about $230.

Affordable DSC-W120
The Sony Cybershot DSC-W120 is a lot like the W130 but it
is 7.2 megapixels instead of 8.1. In pink, blue, black and
silver, the W120 camera will be available for about $200.

Sigma
Announces the Innovative DP1
The
Sigma DP1 is a new type of digital camera that has a 20.7mm x
13.8mm image sensor that captures 14 megapixels of information
(2652×1768×3 layers). This unique new setup can reproduce high
definition images rich in gradation and impressive
three-dimensional detail. The large photodiodes deployed at a
large pixel pitch capture pure, rich light efficiently and give
the DP1 its high resolution and richly-graduated tones.

The
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX500 is a 10.1 megapixel digital camera
with 5x optical zoom. It is designed to take high quality photos
and to make organizing and sorting photos easier. The FX500

Canon Powershot SD790 IS is a 10 megapixel camera with 3x
optical zoom. It is designed to be smaller than a deck of
playing cards with a streamlined, classy look. The SD790 IS
features optical image stabilization, an anti-blur system, face
detection, a 3" LCD, in-camera image enhancement, and an
adjacent multi-control dial. It will be available in the end of
March for about $349.
