Avoiding Camera Shake and Blurry Photos
Marinda
Van Zyl writes, "Camera shake is the most common cause of blurry
photos. The camera will select a slow shutter speed in low light
situations where you’re not using flash. If you handhold at this
shutter speed, you will have camera shake and there’s nothing
you can do in the post production process to remedy it. So let’s
look at a couple of ways to prevent it before you take the shot.
If you don’t have a tripod, place your camera on a stable
surface like a table."

Separate Subject from Background with Selective Focus
Marinda
Van Zyl writes, "Depth of field (DOF) is the distance in front
of and beyond the subject that appears to be in focus. It is
influenced by three factors. The smaller the aperture
(higher f-stop like f16), the greater the depth of field. If the
lens focal length and shooting distance stays the same, the
depth of field is greater at f22 than f2.8."
