The Elements of a Good Portrait

Coping with Large Image File Sizes

Paul Klein writes, "The resolution of digital cameras has rapidly increased over the last 5 years. Most professional and many high end amateur cameras are now capable of producing images at over 12 megapixels. Most serious photographers will shoot images and store them in a RAW format that keeps all the information that the camera sensor received and does not perform compression on the image as jpg processing does. Samsung Releases the S860 for Entry-Level Photographers

The Samsung S860 is an 8.1-megapixel digital camera with 3x optical zoom. It is designed to be an entry-level camera that sets a new standard when it comes to today’s user friendly point and-shoot digital cameras. The S860 features digital image stabilization, face detection, a self portrait mode, a movie mode, 11 scene modes, and various special effects. The Sony Cybershot S730 is a 7.2 megapixel digital camera with 3x optical zoom. It is designed to be an affordable entry point into digital photography without compromising on image quality. The S730 features a 2.4-inch LCD screen, high sensitivity (ISO 1250), a new multi-point autofocus mode, and on-screen advice to choose the correct settings.
